Randomly, while at the MoMA yesterday, we also had the opportunity to see an Oscar winning actress asleep in a glass box. Yes, you heard right people. Tilda Swinton (Best Supporting Actress in Michael Clayton in 2008) the David Bowie-esque Scottish actress is doing a performance piece where she sleeps in a glass box entitled “The Maybe”. Apparently, she did this originally in London at the Serpentine Gallery in 1995. She has also performed it in Rome.
I hope we don’t get into trouble since there is no photography allowed but we sneaked in a shot from the 2nd floor level:
There is no info about it on the MoMA website. Apparently, the scheduling will not be announced and even the staff don’t get informed it is happening until the day of. All she gets inside the glass box are cushions and a water jug.
We are all wondering the same thing:
What about when she needs to use the rest room?
